Diamond and The Doctor

Hosted by Arthur Zilkowski

Longtime Calgary musicians find themselves crossing paths once more in the HRM: sounds like something that's meant to be!

Diamond and The Doctor shared the stage in a southern Alberta power trio for nearly a decade, and have now put that experience into a duo, synthesizing their music, harmonies and humour into an enjoyable, easy listening format. Folks meets classic rock, street cred with a bit of establishment. Bradley 'Diamond' Dillman and David 'Doctor' Jones will entertain you with sultry sounds, dance-able rhythms and silly antics!

"Put The Kettle On"

Vince Morash, James Crouse  and Pixie Currie

Hosted by Jim Reid

Take a prolific singer/songwriter and a gifted musician and put them together with a stand up base player and fantastic repertoire of original songs and you get the perfect combination for any stage.

Vince Morash was raised in Nova Scotia’s iconic fishing village of Peggy’s Cove.  His years in a seacoast village, combined with a life travels across Canada have given him a unique perspective. In his huge collection of original tunes, the subject matters varies from the challenges of making a living as a coffee shop  server (CoraLee), to the reflections of parents of a fallen soldier ( When a soldier falls)and a myriad of themes in between.  His songs are a reflection of everyday life and some can bring a tear to your eye, from sorrow or laughter.

As a musical partner, there are few musicians as versatile as James Crouse. His expertise on the guitar and vocal harmonies enhance any song like a breeze filling a sail on a schooner.

Pixie Currie will anchor the show with a steady up right base beat on some tunes and assist with harmonies on others.

After much laughter and wringing of hands from throwing around  potential band names  we have chosen the name “Put the Kettle On”,stolen unceremoniously from Ann Fearon’s song of the same name.

Campbell & Green (Adult Contemporary)

Hosted by Jim Reid

Campbell + Green is a duo of talented musicians whose beautiful vocal harmonies and sincere honesty captivates audiences with their warm and relaxed on-stage presence. Their thoughtful songwriting of a contemporary folk/pop style with a touch of traditional blues, country and light rock, range from happy to powerful to poignant.

Their new CD release, “When One Door Closes”, digs deep into their life experience to share strong stories, a zest for life, and marital humour in both their songwriting and performances. Not your average duo, this couple is going against the odds in the music industry, forging paths traditionally paved for young up-and-coming stars. Both 50 something, they have taken on the world, made the leap, and are following their passion and love of music.

Shore Vocalz

Hosted by Jim Reid

Shore Vocalz is an auditioned group of singers in grades 7-12 from the Musquodoboit area and is a part of the Dartmouth All-City Music Program. The choir rehearses at O'Connell Drive School every Wednesday from 4:30-6 pm from mid-September through to the end of June. Shore Vocalz has appeared at many different venues, including The Christmas Daddies Telethon, Upper Clements Park, The IWK Telethon and The Atlantic Festival of Music (proudly achieving a Gold standing for the past two years). We also love to sing in our community, making ourselves regulars at The Birches, the Relay for Life and Dartmouth Music Centre concerts. Over the past few years we have also shared the stage with some incredible performers like Charlie A'Court and Marianas Trench. Most recently, we sang back-up vocals for PIGS, the world-renowned Pink Floyd Tribute Band – you just never know what the choral year will bring!
