The Halifax Explosion: Stories from the Eastern Shore

Opening Workshop: The Halifax Explosion--Eastern Shore

Join us in an opening ceremony for the Eastern Shore Halifax Explosion event to create peace and reconciliation in the face of trauma and war. This is a movement experience for anyone, regardless of mobility or age. Together, we will launch the day of remembrance with music and movement.

Main Performance Room: Afternoon Events between 1 and 4:30 pm


1 pm: Opening Ceremony and Guest Speaker 

2 pm: Filmmaker John Versteege' s  documentary "Thunder In The Sky"  

3 pm : Story Teller Cindy Campbell-Stone, The Story of Margaret Ellen Munro and two short stories

Main Performance Room:  Evening Events between 7:30 and 10:00 pm


7:15 to 8 pm Subtitled Silent Movies; Short Videos, Family Stories Collected From The Shore  7:15 to 8 pm

8 PM - 9 PM Concert:  Host Jim Reid 
Featuring  Shore Vocalz Youth Choir, Colin Cameron & Gregory Hughes (Westerness), Alastair MacDonald, Coastal Voices, John Verlinden, Cindy Campbell-Stone, Karen Schlick & Gary Griffin,  Adrien Blanchette.
