Alzheimer Society Family Caregiver Education Series

For family and community members providing care and support to someone recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or another dementia. As the disease progresses, the need for care increases and so does the need for additional support. Come and learn more about dementia, planning for the future and where to find support and resources.

Through this education series you will:

• Increase your knowledge and understanding of the nature and course of dementia
• Become more aware of community resources and how to access them
• Gain information, tools and strategies to care for yourself and someone living with dementia

Six sessions will include:

• An overview of dementia
• Planning ahead (financial & legal)
• Day-to-day living
• Care for the caregiver
• Understanding dementia behaviour
• Responding to changing care needs
