A unique aspect of our Musqui Café project is that we will also offer community resource navigators on site who can assist with various concerns such as housing, benefits, food security, ageing in place, youth support and mental health. This will be done in a casual setting which can be more comfortable for those who have not had positive experience previously. Follow-ups can then be planned by the corresponding agency or organization.
We are thrilled to announce that our beloved Musqui Cafe project has been awarded funding to continue free biweekly community meals from January 8-December 17, 2026.
Since the Musqui Cafe's inception in May 2024, we have provided 5500 free homemade meals to the community, access and connection to community resources as well as camaraderie and social relationships. We want to thank our dedicated staff, board members, parish committee as well as the community for this successful, incredible community endeavor.
Meals will include both vegetarian and gluten free options and take out is available for those who may not wish to take part in a social setting. Extra services will be included in the project such as laundry facilities and showers for those in need.
